There Are Many Options For Straightening Your Teeth!
THIRTY YEARS AGO, STRAIGHTENING YOUR TEETH MEANT HAVING TO LIVE AS A METAL MOUTH FOR A WHILE, and that was a sacrifice people were willing to make because they had no other choice. Though metal braces are still quite common today, and exceedingly cooler than they were back in the 80s, they are no longer the only solution to crooked teeth. Modern orthodontic care offers a variety of choices so you can improve your smile the way you want to. Now you can CHOOSE whether or not you want your braces colorful, clear, invisible, or even behind your teeth! Lets take a few minutes and talk about your options!
Behind The Teeth Braces (Lingual Braces)
These braces go behind your teeth and pull them in place from the back. Though these braces can sometimes be more painful than traditional braces, they take much less time and are completely hidden to the public. This can be the perfect solution for adults who are concerned about looking too childish with regular braces.
Invisible Braces (Invisalign)
If you are still uncomfortable with the idea of a bunch of metal in your mouth, even if you know no one can see it, Invisalign may be the solution for you. Through this invisible tray system you can straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious or embarrassed. A computer judges how far your teeth will move every two weeks or so, and Dr. Meyrowitz andDr. Lee will make a series of interchangeable trays for you to switch out without having to come in to L&M Orthodontics all the time. Invisalign is typically used only on adults or older teens because it is more difficult to predict how a childs teeth will shift.
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional braces are still the most common teeth straightening process. These braces go in front of your teeth and gradually pull them in line. Both children and adults can benefit from these type of braces. Ask Dr. Meyrowitz andDr. Lee about how to speed up your straightening process with rubber bands and extra bracing at night.
Ceramic Clear Braces
Translucent ceramic braces are the most common form of braces for adults. Unless you are very close to someone, they are easy to miss! However, because they are made of ceramic material, they are more fragile than traditional metal braces, and typically arent recommended for children.
